Get ready to mark your calendars for an exciting event coming to Pooler this summer! On Saturday, July 19, Tanger Outlets will be hosting a Back to School Dash & Splash event. This fun community event is a great way to get active, make unforgettable memories and have a blast while getting splashed with bright colors.
The event’s festivities kick off at 8:00 a.m. with a thrilling 5K Race to jumpstart the fun that will last until 9:30 a.m.! Afterward, a free Fun Run will kick off at 10:00 a.m. that’s perfect for all ages and skill levels and will last until 11:30 a.m. As you make your way around the Fun Run course, you’ll run through clouds of bright, non-toxic color powder. It’ll feel like you’re walking through a real-life kaleidoscope of beautiful colors! Make sure to wear either white or light clothing so the colorful powder can be vibrant. It’s also recommended to bring a pair of sunglasses to help protect your eyes from the rainbow-colored powder. Once you’ve completed the course, the Pooler Fire Department will be at the event to help cool things down with a water sprayer and to wash off the bright colors.
All proceeds from the event go towards Blessings in a Book Bag, which is a local non-profit organization. This includes the $25 registration for participants who want to do the 5K Race. Blessings in a Book Bag helps impoverished elementary school children and their families by ensuring they have meals during the weekends and over summer break. At the event, they’ll also be collecting school supplies from backpacks and notebooks to pencils and other essentials to give back to the community.
